We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer for a long-term contract position based in Houston, TX . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Power BI development , with expertise in M Code (Power Query), DAX , and a solid sense of UI/UX design to create visually compelling and interactive dashboards.

- Develop, publish, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets.
- Write complex M Code (Power Query) transformations to clean and model raw data efficiently.
- Build and optimize DAX measures and calculated columns to support advanced analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Apply best practices in UI/UX design to create user-friendly and visually appealing dashboards.
- Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy and performance of reports.
- Support ad hoc report requests and ongoing data visualization needs from multiple departments.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance in Power BI environments.
- 5+ years of experience in BI and data analytics, with a strong focus on Power BI .
- Proficiency in M Code/Power Query for data shaping and transformation.
- Strong experience with DAX for building advanced metrics and KPIs.
- Demonstrated ability in UI/UX principles for report and dashboard design.
- Hands-on experience connecting Power BI to various data sources (SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with enterprise data modeling and large datasets.
- Power BI Service administration knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile development and JIRA/DevOps tools.
