Job Title: High School Robotic Head Coach
Reports to: Activity and Athletic Director
Salary: $2,500 - $2,800
Work year: Seasonal



Job Summary:
Join our staff as the high school robotic head coach and lead a team of highly dedicated student athletes. The Head Robotic Coach is responsible for developing and sustaining a successful program with a strong emphasis on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, developing character and training students for robotics competitions.



Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A teacher with a current teaching license is preferred but not a requirement.
  • Current CPR and AED Certification.
  • Previous coaching experience in this sport at the high school level is desirable.
  • Have a valid driver's license, be able to drive, and qualify under the district's insurance carrier when driving a district vehicle.
  • Desire to continue career improvement.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.


Essential Functions:
  • Create an atmosphere where students feel valued and cared for so that they can take intellectual risks.
  • Expose students to new technologies, skills, and knowledge to increase their interest in science, technology, engineering and math.
  • Create opportunities for students to take on leadership roles on the team.
  • Help students improve their problem-solving skills.
  • Help students feel empowered.
  • Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
  • Develop and implement procedures for ensuring open communication with parents and athletes.
  • Establish direction and expectations for all program participants.
  • Monitor athlete attendance/behavior/academic status.
  • Be responsible for, understanding, adhering to, enforcing, implementing district, school and athletic policies along with CHSAA By-Laws.
  • Ability to use approved first-aid and CPR skills.
  • Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
  • Support the value of education.
  • Maintain good public relations for the Robotic program
  • Ensure that health and safety precautions are observed during all activities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
