Psychology Instructor, Full-Time Faculty

Full-Time Faculty Member, PsychologyThe Full-Time Faculty Member, Psychology provides instruction in psychology courses that serve general education, transfer, and program requirements at Zane State College. The position designs and delivers coursework, assesses student achievement of course and program learning outcomes, and maintains currency in the discipline. The faculty member contributes to curriculum development, program review, and institutional service within the Arts and Sciences division.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeach assigned psychology courses, which may include general psychology, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, social psychology, and lifespan development, using evidence-based instructional practices appropriate for lower-division undergraduate students.Provide instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats as assigned, using the College's learning management system and instructional technologies for course delivery, grading, and record keeping.Develop, update, and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments consistent with departmental and College standards.Develop and administer learning assessments that measure student achievement of course and program learning outcomes.Evaluate and document student progress through timely feedback, grading, academic support, and referral to College resources.Participate in program review, outcomes assessment, accreditation activities, and continuous improvement processes.Maintain scheduled office hours and provide academic guidance to students.Collaborate with faculty colleagues on curriculum development, course sequencing, and assessment planning, and participate in departmental meetings, College committees, professional development, and shared governance activities.Perform other duties consistent with the role of a full-time faculty member as assigned.QualificationsMaster's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution required; or a master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in Psychology.College-level teaching experience preferred, including experience in a community college setting.Knowledge of psychology as a discipline, including its major theoretical, research, and applied areas.Ability to design and evaluate assessments aligned with course and program learning outcomes; experience developing student learning outcomes and program-level assessment reports preferred.Skill in providing constructive, timely feedback that supports student achievement.Experience teaching and supporting students with varied levels of academic preparation, including first-generation students and adult learners, preferred.Ability to use instructional technology and learning management systems effectively; experience teaching psychology courses in online or hybrid formats preferred.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners.Familiarity with program review, accreditation processes, and data-informed instructional improvement preferred.Employment and BenefitsThis is a full-time, nine-month, exempt faculty position based on the Zanesville campus. Assigned courses may be delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats based on departmental need; course delivery format does not alter the on-campus nature of the appointment. Summer teaching assignments are offered separately as supplemental agreements based on course demand and institutional need and are not guaranteed. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
