Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an experienced Architect for our Carolinas group, reporting to the Charleston, SC team, to support advanced manufacturing and federal project types. This role provides architectural guidance, design development, and production support across a range of project delivery methods, working closely with senior staff and project teams from concept through construction administration. This role can be worked on a hybrid basis from any of our East Coast offices.About Buildings + PlacesAECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. With a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions.Our Carolinas B+P teams focus on providing design services in the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics market, including logistics centers and industrial facilities, while also supporting a wide range of project types across the federal and private sectors.ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for initiating and developing design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects, in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project's discipline leaders. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Providing architectural guidance, calculations, specifications, analysis, studies, and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned projectMay manage various size groups of architects, designers, and/or specialistsMay work on modest size projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher gradesDesign and production work, including architectural detailing through construction documents, using RevitPerform construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittalsPerform field verification and travel to project sites as needed (less than 10%)Establish and implement standards, processes, procedures, and workflowsPerform QA/QC reviews when assignedIndependently determine and develop approach to solutions under general directionCoordinate design activities with other engineering disciplinesPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorQualificationsMinimum Requirements:Degree from a NAAB accredited program plus six (6) years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationExperience with AutoCAD and RevitExperience with design solution development, building systems and detailing, applicable codes and life safety requirements, differing building types and project delivery methods, and programming and planning methodsArchitectural registration (RA)Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be a United States CitizenPreferred Qualifications:Experience on federal projects with knowledge of the UFC and UFGSRA License in South CarolinaLEED credentialsNCARB certificationMaster of ArchitectureEligibility for a U.S. Security clearanceEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize and execute tasks accurately, effectively, and confidentlyAdditional InformationRelocation assistance is not available.Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
