Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatments in an outpatient setting, progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
• Complete accurate and timely medical record documentation including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
• Ensure all care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals as required
• Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements, maintaining licensure in good standing and fulfilling continuing education requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license — must be current and in good standing prior to start
• Outpatient physical therapy experience required
• Experience with 60-minute evaluations and treatments
• No new graduates — prior clinical experience is required
• Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice acts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with functional treatment program design focused on return to community activities
• Demonstrated involvement in professional development activities, continuing education, or professional organizations
• Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies in a clinical setting
