Job Summary

As a Patient Access Specialist I, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate scheduling and registration for clinic and hospital services. Your responsibilities include verifying insurance and benefits, managing referrals and pre-authorizations, and handling point-of-service collections with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and register patients using specialized software, maintaining data accuracy including patient identification and insurance details.
• Verify referrals and pre-authorizations for applicable services.
• Conduct registration interviews prior to initial visits.
• Collect patient financial responsibilities such as co-payments and co-insurances, and manage daily cash drawer operations.
• Operate multi-line phone systems to efficiently route and respond to calls.
• Respond to patient inquiries, ensuring comfort, dignity, and confidentiality throughout the intake process.
• Complete daily assignments, administrative tasks, and special projects as needed.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Healthcare experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged.
