This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced legal professional to oversee all legal and regulatory aspects of our organization. The successful candidate will provide legal advice, guidance, and strategy to ensure that our business practices, policies, and dealings meet all legal requirements and standards. Broad exposure — from corporate law and governance to regulatory, disputes, employment, and M&A. Job Details • Advise senior leadership and the Board on a broad range of legal, strategic, and governance matters, balancing risk and growth. • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, prepare board materials, ensure fiduciary, statutory, and regulatory compliance. • Monitor evolving insurance law, licensing, and regulation across states; manage relationships with state insurance departments and regulators. • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad spectrum of agreements (vendors, tech, reinsurance, distribution, strategic alliances). • Lead risk identification and mitigation: design processes and controls to protect the business as it scales. • Provide legal counsel on employment matters, internal policies, executive contracts, and HR related risks. • Oversee dispute resolution, manage external counsel, and direct litigation strategy cost effectively. • Support corporate transactions including capital raises, joint ventures, partnerships, and M&A. Build and lead the in house legal and compliance team, mentoring and scaling resources as needed. Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
