About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN - OR Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: Minimum of 1 year current hospital acute care experience Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role Description: This position is for a travel Registered Nurse in the Operating Room. The facility has a total of 408 beds, with 14 operating rooms including hybrid and multipurpose options. The staff consists of approximately 60 full-time equivalents, including OR RNs, surgical techs, and anesthesia techs. In a typical day shift, there are 14-16 RNs and surgical techs on duty, along with clinical charge RNs. Patient ratios in the operating room are maintained at 1:1. Standard OR equipment is utilized, including Stryker video systems and electronic medical records. Typical procedures performed may include angioplasty, appendectomy, biopsy, and orthopedic or spine surgeries. There are no transplant procedures performed in this unit. Candidates with circulating and scrubbing experience are preferred. Good communication skills with both staff and providers are essential for patient experience. Adaptability to change is a desirable trait for candidates. On-call requirements include one evening per week and weekend on-call once every six weeks.
