Job Summary and Qualifications The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Johnston-Willis Hospital provides tools to help you succeed in today’s hospital environment. This paid program supports the transition from student nurse to registered nurse through a formal series of learning experiences, including: Advanced clinical training in a specialty area. Monthly educational sessions. Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor. Measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations. Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders. Working collaboratively on an evidence-based practice project. We offer flexible start date options; this position could be day or night shift and will be discussed during the interview process. Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department requirements and applicable standards of practice. Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models. Act as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support a positive patient experience. What you will do in this role Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered; document care in the patient record promptly and thoroughly. Administer prescribed medications; monitor response and notify the provider if there is an unintended response. Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to resolve them proactively. Educate patients, families and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications and follow-up measures; translate complex medical terminology as needed. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the state. No previous experience required.
