Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) to join our team. This position involves providing comprehensive care for complex medical-surgical cardiac patients, including but not limited to those recovering from myocardial infarction (MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), cardiac surgeries, and various interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide critical care for patients post-cardiac surgery, including direct post-operative care and management of complications.
• Monitor and manage patients with multi-system organ failure, dysrhythmias, and other critical conditions.
• Administer IV medications, including cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous sedation, while titrating as necessary.
• Utilize advanced equipment including ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation), IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), Impella, and perform sheath removal as indicated.
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines, ensuring proper care and maintenance.
• Interpret ABGs (Arterial Blood Gases) and provide ventilator management for patients requiring respiratory support.
• Assist with various critical interventions including chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, and high flow nasal cannula care.
• Participate in the management of patients with chronic and acute renal failure, and those requiring CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy).

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of nursing experience in critical care, preferably in a CVICU setting.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications are required.
• Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure.
• Familiarity with post-cardiac surgery care and interventions, including TAVI/TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation/Replacement) is preferred.
• Ability to float between multiple locations within the region as needed.

Shift Details:

This position requires a commitment to a 3x12-hour night schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), including every other weekend and potential holiday shifts.
