Director of Program Delivery

Director of Program Delivery Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Chief Programs & Public Resources Officer (CPPRO) this role will lead and provide oversight of the Program Delivery team, providing program management and operational support to country offices across Africa, Latin America, and Asia. The director will supervise and mentor Portfolio Managers and Coordinators, ensuring projects stay on time, scope, and budget while promoting performance, accountability, and risk management. The role also facilitates project start‑ups, monitoring and reporting, manages compliance issues, and supports project closures. Key abilities required include: adaptability in a fast‑paced environment, cross‑cultural collaboration, budget review, strong written communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce, ability to sit/stand at a computer for up to 8 hours a day, and a willingness to travel up to 25% of time domestically and internationally. Responsibilities Lead, direct and manage the Program Delivery unit ensuring effective project management and operational support to Country Offices. Leverage team leadership to foster a high-performance culture, openness, mutual support, and decisiveness. Mentor Portfolio Managers and Coordinators to meet performance objectives. Develop and roll out program delivery standards and strategic initiatives to Country Offices. Manage global portfolio, strategic planning and budgeting across all country offices. Support CPPRO and Regional Directors with operational matters related to program delivery. Act as liaison between home office, business units, and Country Offices to address bottlenecks. Coordinate compliance coordination with agreement management, risk and compliance teams. Track program delivery based on scope, time, budget, and risk criteria. Track monthly expenditure rates for all projects and report to senior leadership. Support project and/or Country Office start‑ups and close‑outs. Monitor the quality of CO programmatic reporting to donors. Provide surge support to Country Offices for effective program delivery and risk mitigation. Qualifications At least 8 years of experience in project management, international development, and/or regional studies. At least 2 years of experience working in and based in a developing country. Experience in a complex, matrixed organization with country office and home office collaboration. Experience supervising and mentoring staff. Exposure to child sponsorship and other private funds preferred. Hold a bachelor’s degree. PMDPro or other project management certification a plus. Fluency in spoken and written English; French or Spanish speaking an advantage.
