Staff AI/ML Engineer - CI Platform

Staff Engineer – CI Platform (Cloud & AI Developer Productivity) Hybrid role; may work remotely if based in Seattle, WA. The successful candidate should be located in one of the following: Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford, MountainView, or Sunnyvale. They are expected to report to the office at least three days per week. Key Responsibilities Identify engineering pain points, propose, design, and implement reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions. Influence the team’s technical roadmap. Evaluate new tools and technologies through PoCs. Ship improvements that have a measurable impact on AV development productivity and core company metrics. Drive software engineering best practices, encouraging tooling that supports quality. Guide the engineering culture and balance impact with technical debt. Mentor and grow engineers on the team. Set the example for high accountability, executing impact individually and as a team. Define boundaries when selecting external requests to align with team vision. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production systems at scale in the cloud. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience. Experience designing highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable services. Proficiency in Go, Python, or other production‑scale languages. Strong understanding of Unix/Linux, SSH, and networking fundamentals. Attention to detail and drive to improve processes and systems. Leadership and influence skills across internal and external stakeholders. Strong research, documentation, and communication abilities. Ability to make trade‑offs, prioritize shipping, and work under pressure. Passion for mentorship and growth of junior engineers. Interest in self‑driving technology and its impact. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with GCP. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Ownership or contribution to open‑source projects. Compensation Estimated salary: $170,000 to $300,000 per year (based on applicable state laws). Bonus potential and additional benefits may apply.
