About the Role: Braddock Street UMC in Winchester, VA is looking for a warm, nurturing Preschool Assistant Teacher to join their early childhood education team! Responsibilities: Assist the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and daily curriculum activities Supervise and engage preschool-aged children during classroom activities, meals, and outdoor play Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment for all children Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through play-based learning Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding child progress Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space Assist with behavior management using positive reinforcement techniques Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred Prior experience working with preschool or early childhood-aged children Genuine passion for child development and early education Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills Ability to pass a background check and meet state childcare licensing requirements CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a faith-based setting About Us: Braddock Street United Methodist Church has been a cornerstone of the Winchester, VA community, offering programs and services rooted in faith, compassion, and service.
