Public Safety Dispatcher

This position is part of the United States Park Police Field Operations Division. This position ensures effective telecommunications to the Force, other law enforcement and public safety agencies, operational personnel and the public. The incumbent will be responsible for answering 911 - Emergency and Non Emergency calls for service and providing full Law Enforcement communications services which operate 24-hours a day, seven days a week. If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of the following: Customer service based experience in a high-pace environment where the ability to make quick decisions is key Operate multi-line telephones, computers or radio equipment to provide information Collect information from callers and input into computer system To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of the following: Customer service-based experience in a high-pace environment where the ability to make quick decisions is key Operate multi-line telephones, computers or radio equipment while inputting information collected from callers into computer systems Operate public safety dispatch systems such as NCIC, NLETS, CLETS, or Computer-aided Dispatch (CAD) with limited supervision Operate computer-based equipment to include, but not limited to alarm monitoring systems, records management systems, computer aided dispatch systems, message notification systems, and report writing systems To qualify for this position at the GS-08 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).
