Description

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located inbeautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence,preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.

We are currently seeking for self- motivated, energetic Registered Nurses who possess the skills, knowledge,and desire to care for Kentucky Veterans using a holistic nursing approach.

Here you will be able to provide quality nursing services to our residents, which includes the following:

• Assessing and implementing care plans
• Evaluating care for the residents
• Guiding Nurse Aides in the care of residents
• Charting health information
• Participating in staff education and directly caring for our residents

We offer flexible scheduling, holiday, weekend and shift premiums and the Veterans Affairs Nurse LoanRepayment Program.

The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serve Kentucky'sVeterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.

This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $14.41 in compliance with 101 KAR2:034 Section 9(1).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in a hospital or institutional setting. May be exposed to hazards common in hospitals or institutional settings which requires the following of safety procedures.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
