WelderWe are seeking experienced TIG/MIG Welders to support the repair and construction of U.S. Navy submarines and their critical components at Kings Bay, GA, with additional project opportunities across the United States. As a Structural Welder, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining advanced naval vessels that adhere to the highest standards of quality, precision, and safety.ResponsibilitiesPerform welding and fabrication tasks for both new construction and repair of submarine components.Utilize Pulse MIG (GMAW) and Push Button TIG (GTAW) welding processes.Interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to plan and execute work.Cut, burn, and weld various metals to fabricate and repair structural components.Prepare and clean surfaces prior to welding; assemble and track welded parts.Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions using techniques such as FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW.Build up worn or defective surfaces and repair existing equipment.Operate burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials to required specifications.Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Collaborate with team members while also working independently when required.Essential SkillsProven experience in structural welding, including both new construction and repair work.Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, with the ability to pass weld tests in both processes.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout specifications.Willingness and ability to travel as required.Must possess or be eligible for Secret Security Clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsIdeally have 1+ years minimum experience in a Shipyard or the Navy working on submarines.At minimum, completion of Welding School with relevant field experience.TIG (push button specific) and MIG pulse welding experience.Familiarity with shipbuilding, fabrication, and structural fitting.Why Work Here?Join a prestigious government contract offering great benefits and growth potential. Work hours are typically 0600-1430 with potential overtime, and you may need to work off-shifts based on workload. Proper welding PPE and work-appropriate attire, including work pants and shirts, are required.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
