Buckland is looking for a Trade Manager.
The Trade Manager is responsible for overseeing U.S. compliance with broker regulations as outlined in 19 CFR 111, ensuring all requirements are consistently met. This role will establish and maintain procedures and quality standards for the operations team, while leading the Trade team to ensure full compliance with all U.S. Customs regulations.

You will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the filing of regulatory submissions including PSC's and Protests.
- Monitoring and addressing responses to Requests for Information, Notices of Action, Liquidated Damages and Entry Summary Rejections.
- Overseeing ACE Reconciliation filings.
- Supporting with CTPAT related inquiries and process.
- Managing and developing a team of Trade professionals by providing daily support of regulatory and compliance inquiries.
- Supporting the Director in understanding of new regulations and determining impact.
- Establishing benchmarks for audit and ensuring entry/entry summaries are filed in accordance with the regulations.
- Developing people and their understanding of all regulatory matters.
- Ensuring all onboarding of new clients or services meet the compliance standards.
- Planning and coordinating quality assurance programs to prevent and control deviations in the operation.
- Establishing KPI's, procedures, standards, and quality systems to improve the operation.
- Training staff in using relevant quality tools, to continuously improve the process, eliminate waste and increase efficiency
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Ability to manage a team.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Assign tasks to team members.
- Hire and Terminate employees.
- Assists with training and guidance of direct reports.
- Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules.
What we need from you:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years customs brokerage, regulatory, consulting or similar professional services required.
- US Customs Broker's License (must maintain yearly status).
- Strong knowledge of US Customs Section 232 and 301 tariffs and exclusions and PGA requirements.
- Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- High level of organization, time management and attention to detail.
- Advanced MS Office knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
- Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MX.
