Step into a rewarding role helping students thrive! A contract opening is available for a dedicated school-based Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students across all grade levels, from Pre-K through 12th grade. This district-wide position offers a unique opportunity to make a broad impact, engaging with diverse learners and collaborating closely with educators and families.
This assignment initially covers approximately 12 weeks for a maternity/FMLA leave, with a high likelihood of extension, although only the initial term can be guaranteed at this time. Candidates must be fully committed to a temporary assignment, with the understanding that extension is likely but not assured.
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Occupational Therapist license or active COTA certification (CT DPH License, NBCOT exam passed)
- Reliable transportation to navigate district sites
- Previous experience in school-based settings preferred
- Comfortable supporting students with diverse needs and collaborating with educational teams
- COTA applicants must be able to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist as required by state guidelines
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students district-wide, addressing educational and therapeutic goals
- Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families to support student progress and participation
- Foster an inclusive environment promoting independence and academic success
- Maintain timely and thorough records as per district protocols
