Research Analyst

Overview

A leading professional services firm is seeking a Research Analyst to provide legal, business, and industry research support to attorneys and business professionals across the organization. This role is responsible for delivering timely, high-quality research and analysis using a wide range of digital databases, research platforms, and specialized resources.

In addition to traditional research responsibilities, the Research Analyst will serve as a subject-matter resource for AI-powered research technologies, helping attorneys and staff effectively and responsibly integrate emerging tools into research workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and collaborative research professional with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and an interest in legal technology and innovation.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal, business, and industry research for attorneys and business professionals using a variety of digital and print resources.
• Deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality research support across multiple practice areas and business functions.
• Monitor legal, regulatory, legislative, and industry developments and contribute to alerts, newsletters, and internal communications.
• Maintain expertise in legal research databases, business intelligence platforms, interlibrary loan systems, and document delivery services.
• Serve as a resource for AI-powered research tools, assisting users with responsible adoption, workflow integration, and validation of AI-generated outputs.
• Support assigned practice groups and business teams by providing targeted research assistance and subject-matter expertise.
• Collaborate with department leadership on research tool evaluations, process improvements, intranet resources, and special projects.
• Adhere to established research workflows, service standards, and quality expectations.
• Deliver professional, responsive, and solution-oriented client service through effective communication and collaboration with attorneys, staff, vendors, and external contacts.

Requirements

• MLS, MLIS, JD, or equivalent degree required.
• Combination of research-focused education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of research experience required.
• Experience in a large law firm or professional services environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of legal research platforms, business information databases, and research methodologies.
• Experience using AI-powered research and analytics tools, including generative AI technologies.
• Ability to validate AI-generated research outputs and support responsible use of emerging technologies.
• Familiarity with new and evolving research technologies and the ability to integrate them into established workflows.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent requests and deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
