Step into an impactful contract nursing role serving students in a vibrant school setting near West Liberty, IA. Two dedicated nurses (RN or LPN) are needed to support both a maternity leave and a one-on-one caseload, ensuring students receive the highest level of care and support throughout the school year.

One nurse will provide full-time coverage for a maternity leave from March through May. The second position is a unique opportunity to make a direct difference by working 1:1 with a student who is wheelchair-bound, non-verbal, and requires tube feeding, beginning in February and continuing through June. Both roles are full-time, supporting a single school with a focus on compassionate, attentive care for elementary to teenage students.

Qualifications:

• Active Iowa RN or LPN license required
• Experience in a school, pediatric, or similar setting preferred
• Comfort and competence with tube feeding and supporting non-verbal, wheelchair-bound students
• Ability to collaborate closely and communicate with school staff, students, and families
• Strong documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing services and comprehensive care to students daily
• Provide individualized, 1:1 nursing care for a student with complex health needs
• Administer medications, perform tube feedings, and monitor vital signs as needed
• Communicate changes in health status to appropriate stakeholders promptly
• Support healthy, safe environments in accordance with school and state guidelines
• Maintain accurate, timely health records and documentation
• Participate in school health planning and collaborate with educators and support staff
