Electrical Journeyman

Position Summary:

The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and
maintaining electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and medical projects.
This includes power distribution, branch circuitry, lighting systems, grounding,
equipment terminations, low-voltage pathways, and underground infrastructure where
applicable.
Journeymen are expected to perform work with a high level of craftsmanship, safety
awareness, and technical accuracy. They support Foremen and Senior Foremen by
executing daily tasks, mentoring apprentices, and ensuring installations meet NEC,
NFPA 70E, and company standards.
This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to read and interpret drawings, and
a commitment to quality, professionalism, and continuous learning.

Expectations for the role:

• Craftsmanship: Perform high-quality electrical installations with accuracy and
attention to detail.
• Technical competency: Understand commercial, industrial, and medical electrical
systems thoroughly.
• Safety ownership: Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, trench safety, and company safety
requirements at all times.
• Teamwork: Work collaboratively with Foremen, electricians, apprentices, and
other trades.
• Professionalism: Represent the company with integrity, reliability, and a strong
work ethic.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate redlines, material tracking, and daily task
updates.
• Communication: Communicate clearly with Foremen, Senior Foremen,
PMs/APMs, and inspectors.
• Problem solving: Identify issues early and propose solutions to field leadership.
• Mentorship: Support the development of apprentices and less experienced team
members.
• Adaptability: Work effectively in fast-paced, complex commercial and industrial
environments.
• Continued education: Stay current with NEC updates, industry standards, and
emerging technologies.
