Travel RN - Operating RoomAmerican TravelerSpringfield, Illinois, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: DaysLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-10-19$2,827.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for an ambulatory surgery center setting, requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.DetailsAmbulatory OR setting preferred, though experience in any OR setting (general, hybrid, trauma) is acceptable.Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM).13-week assignment length.Case types include Neuro/Spine, Ortho, Ortho/Spine, Ortho/Total joints, and Podiatry.Anesthesia types include General, Local, MAC, Conscious Sedation, Nerve Blocks, and Spinal.Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities for all travelers.RequirementsActive IL RN license required and in hand.Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted).Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required.Teaching hospital experience preferred.Skilled in pre/post-operative patient care, including pre-op assessment, education, medication reconciliation, and discharge instructions.Experience with emergency medications and reversal agents preferred.Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and malignant hyperthermia protocol.Additional InformationProvide direct perioperative nursing care across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases for a variety of surgical cases.Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor patients under various anesthesia types.Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for consideration.No more than 5 days of non-holiday RTO ideally accommodated.Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays.Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler.First-time travelers are welcome to apply.Travel pairs are not accepted for this position.
