Telecommunications Systems Analyst

Our client, a significant player in the South African telecommunications sector based in Welkom , Free State, is actively seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Telecommunications Systems Analyst. This hybrid role will involve analyzing complex telecommunications systems, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending solutions to enhance efficiency and service delivery. You will play a crucial role in supporting the strategic planning and operational management of our client's infrastructure within Welkom and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of telecommunication technologies, data analysis capabilities, and excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Analyze the performance and functionality of existing telecommunications systems, including network, voice, and data services. Gather and document business and technical requirements from various stakeholders. Identify system weaknesses, inefficiencies, and potential areas for upgrades or replacements. Develop detailed system specifications, process flows, and functional designs. Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed system changes or new implementations. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement approved system enhancements. Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions and provide post-implementation support. Generate regular reports on system performance, trends, and recommendations for management. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging telecommunications technologies. Assist in the planning and execution of system testing and quality assurance activities. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a systems analysis or technical support role within the telecommunications industry. Solid understanding of telecommunication network components, protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MPLS, SIP), and services. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques; experience with SQL is advantageous. Strong requirement gathering, documentation, and modeling skills (e.g., UML). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities. Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Experience working with both on-site and remote team members is beneficial.
