This position will also strengthen your research skills and knowledge of research tools as you help our clients fulfill all of their general court records needs.Why It's a Great Department:The Clerk of the Superior Court's work provides vital administrative services that support and serve the community through maintaining the records of all cases filed in the Superior Court. With your exceptional communication skills, you will be interacting in person and through a variety of electronic modes (phone, email, instant messaging, video conferencing) to assist customers and support your team. Multi-taskers, those with a high fluency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, PPT, and Outlook), and quick learners will be successful in this environment.Someone with empathy and compassion, with the ability to provide and connect services for individuals across all walks of life or different states of well-being. Independent judgment, effective decision-making, and problem-solving, along with exceptional communication, customer service, and attention to detail, will be successful in this role.Your Future in this Role:Throughout the onboarding process, you will meet with the Supervisors, teams, and the admin team regularly to discuss expectations, set goals, identify priorities, and gain familiarity with current policies, procedures, and strategic measures. This position has multiple career growth and promotional opportunities in Pierce County to build a great career.Core Daily Responsibilities:Transcribes court activity to case history documents.Prepares court calendar; encodes or enters into database for court dates and attorney of record.Performs counter and/or phone work providing information to the public; advising attorneys and other interested parties regarding status of cases and legal procedures while maintaining security and confidentiality. May deal with sensitive and/or potentially volatile situations.Maintains legal files and case controls; extracts information from files; prepares legal forms and papers; prepares and reviews files.Performs word processing with responsibility for accuracy, proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and legal terminology.Minimum Qualifications:Additional education or experience may substitute for the recruiting requirements.A resume is required for this position.
