Ryan Lawn & Tree is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations across several branch locations. This role combines hands-on accounting work with people leadership, providing oversight of branch-level financials while managing and developing a team of accounting staff. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-location environment and is comfortable both directing team priorities and rolling up their sleeves to assist with day-to-day accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Branch Financial Oversight

• Review and analyze financial results for multiple branch locations, identifying trends, variances, and areas of concern
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial reporting across branches
• Partner with branch and operations leadership to explain financial performance and support decision-making
• Monitor internal controls across locations and recommend improvements as needed

Team Leadership

• Supervise, mentor, and develop several accounting employees
• Assign and prioritize workload across the team, ensuring deadlines are met
• Provide training and guidance on accounting policies, procedures, and systems
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee growth and development

Accounting Operations & Support

• Assist the accounting team as needed with:

* State sales/use tax return preparation

* Bank reconciliations

* Fixed asset management (additions, disposals, depreciation schedules)

* Financial analysis and reporting

* Month-end and year-end close processes

* Other accounting tasks and special projects as assigned

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes across branches
• Support the implementation of new tools, reports, or workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Bring forward-thinking, innovative solutions to recurring challenges

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior supervisory or management experience preferred
• Multi-location/multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with fixed asset accounting, bank reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus) and advanced Excel skills
• CPA or CPA candidate a plus, but not required

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based, with occasional travel to branch locations as needed
• Standard business hours, with flexibility required during month-end/quarter-end/year-end close periods
