Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst II – Sales & Business Intelligence is a forward-looking analytics role that transforms Icon Protection’s sales and financial data into the insight that drives strategic allocation of resources across the business. Building on a foundation of sales, rebate, and commission reporting, this position elevates the function beyond manual, recurring execution toward automated business intelligence, AI-enabled analysis, and executive-level performance reporting. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the analyst retains ownership of core sales, rebate, and commission reporting while partnering across functional areas to develop self-service dashboards, key performance metrics, and forecasting models that support the reinstated Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and Icon’s “Fueling the Flywheel” margin-improvement priorities. CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Business Intelligence Development Design, build, and maintain automated dashboards and reporting in Qlik Sense to replace manual, spreadsheet-based reporting with scalable, self-service business intelligence Develop and document repeatable data pipelines and data models that connect ERP, pricing, and sales sources into trusted, single-source-of-truth reporting Serve as a subject-matter resource on business intelligence tooling, promoting adoption of dashboards among sales leaders and cross-functional stakeholders Continuously improve reporting accuracy, refresh cadence, and data governance to ensure decisions are made on real-time, reliable data Identify and deploy AI and automation solutions (e.g., generative AI, scripting, and workflow tools) to eliminate manual effort in reporting, reconciliation, and data preparation Key Metric & Performance Reporting Partner with management to define, monitor, and report out on key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure business health and guide strategic allocation of resources Contribute to executive-level presentations on sales performance, margin, and financial outlook for the leadership team Assist in development of customer, channel, and product profitability reporting – including customer P&L views for strategic accounts, to identify growth, margin, and rationalization opportunities Manage monthly topline forecast and produce variance analysis between actual, forecast, and plan S&OP, Forecasting & Financial Modeling Support the reinstated Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process with demand, forecast, and capacity analytics that reconcile rep forecasts, sales initiatives, and new product forecasts against actuals Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and financial models to guide decision-making and strategic planning Assess the financial impact of sales initiatives, promotions, and pricing strategies to optimize profitability and inform margin-improvement tools Partner with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for comprehensive, forward-looking financial analysis Own the monthly calculation of customer rebate accruals and payments, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and timely posting External reporting on rebates to customers and buying groups as required, including interfacing with customer portals Calculate commissions for internal territory managers and external manufacturing representatives on a monthly basis Prepare related journal entries, calculate accruals, and allocate expenses in close coordination with the accounting team during the month-end close process Progressively automate and add analytical depth to rebate and commission reporting; surfacing trend, profitability, and program-ROI insight New Customer Setup — Conduct new customer investigation and set up approved new customers and support existing customer account review and maintenance. This includes maintenance of enrichment data required to amalgamate multi-system data, additions to rebate programs, and additions to commission programs Other Respond to information requests from internal customers and stakeholders as assigned Assist in the deployment and optimization of ERP systems and related data integrations as required Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned Transitional Responsibilities EDI Cross-Reference & Order Processing — Maintain EDI cross-reference data and assist in resolving EDI issues, holding operations accountable to resolution so invoices process accurately QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Minimum three (3) years of experience in finance, accounting, business analytics, or a related data driven role is required. A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience may be considered. Demonstrated proficiency in developing reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions utilizing modern business intelligence platforms such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, or equivalent tools is required. Must possess working knowledge of data preparation, query concepts, data modeling, ETL processes, and integrating data across multiple source systems. Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Great Plains, Steel Viking, Infor M3, SAP, or similar enterprise platforms is required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite are required. Familiarity with AI and automation tools and a demonstrated interest in leveraging technology to streamline financial, analytical, and reporting workflows is preferred. Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, research, documentation, and data analysis skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, first-time-quality results within established deadlines. The successful candidate must be strategic, results-oriented, self motivated, and capable of working effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to effectively present, interpret, and translate complex data and business insights for stakeholders at all levels of the organization, from entry-level employees to executive leadership. Ability to travel domestically up to approximately 10% is required. Must have the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle, maintain a valid driver's license, and have reliable transportation as required for business travel. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Ability to communicate orally in a clear, concise, and effective manner with vendors, staff, and management in face-to-face and one-on-one settings. Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance at the facility or designated location(s). Use of office equipment such as a personal computer, telephone, copier, and facsimile machines is required. Ability to communicate in writing in a clear, concise, and effective manner. Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended time periods. Must be able to occasionally lift, maneuver, and/or pivot up to 30 pounds. Hearing and vision must be within normal ranges. Ability to accurately distinguish color variation. Ability to read at, above, and below shoulder height and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. Sufficient manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment. Normal range of tolerance to household and typical industrial/construction chemicals and solvents. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Must have the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle, maintain a valid state motor vehicle driver license, and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle driving record. Overnight travel may be required. Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approx. 10%) as required for supplier visits.
