Safety ManagerThe Safety Manager will be responsible for managing the safety and health requirements on all Moriarty projects. The Safety Manager should be located within daily driving distance of the Washington D.C. metro-based area and can expect to travel between different regional jobsites daily.Roles & Responsibilities:The Safety Manager will oversee all aspects of construction safety related to the project including:Pre-job safety meetings with subcontractorsAssist project teams with subcontractor project start up including but not limited to collection of requested safety submittals, holding pre-job safety meetings, and onboarding them into safety databasesConduct safety meetings with subcontractors and project teamsConduct site safety orientationsSite walkthroughs and inspections with focus on hazard recognition, resolution, and OSHA complianceSite inspections with a focus on hazard recognition, abatement, and ensuring compliance of company safety policies and OSHA regulationsJobsite OSHA recordkeepingIncident/injury investigation and recordkeepingCommunicate safety issues with subcontractor leadership and general workersMaintain safety database for each project you are assignedEducation:4-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field preferredBoard of Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) certified or obtaining certification in STS-C or CHST preferredOSHA 30 certifiedFirst Aid, CPR, AED certified preferredWork Experience:3-5 years of experience in the construction safety industry is preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Experience with mobile crane, tower cranes, material handling, fall protection, scaffolding, confined-space, steel erection, cast in place, excavations and pre-cast concrete erection is a plusExperience investigating incidents and writing incident reportsKnowledge of OSHA and other applicable standards (NFPA, ANSI)Ability to speak in public during safety meetings and safety stand downs.Ability to address safety hazards and concerns with subcontractor employees and provide corrective actionsFluency in understanding and speaking Spanish preferredAbility to travel daily across DC-Metro area jobsitesPhysical Requirements:This position will require moderate physical activityDriving between sitesClimbing stairs and laddersWalking on rough terrainStanding for long periods of timeWork Environment:Work onsite, outdoors, in all weather conditionsThe noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.The employee will be regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.We foster a culture that is diverse and inclusive and strive for pay practices that are fair, and competitive and reflect our commitment to pay equity.
