Assistant Production Manager – Clayton Sacramento Reports to: Production Manager Department: Management Job Status: Full‑Time / Salary The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of all production departments. The Assistant Production Manager will provide constant communication, feedback and recognition to team members and production leaders to enable a positive team member experience and develop a world‑class culture in line with our company values. Responsibilities Lead large groups of people and focus on developing a culture of accountability while working as a team. Strictly adhere to and comply with quality assurance requirements, including HUD building codes. Remain safety‑mindful and prioritize Safety 1st by adhering to strict safety rules and guidelines. Review production performance and identify training opportunities for production personnel as necessary. Direct teams in each department to ensure timelines and production priorities are met. Provide sound leadership, coaching, mentoring, and direction for personnel development. Improve production processes to enhance overall quality, reduce lead‑times, and lower costs by utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods, 6S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, and other applicable applications. Lead, guide, and direct department leaders. Partner with TMX as needed on team member initiatives. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or college degree preferred. Minimum 4‑5 years of relevant management experience. Previous construction experience strongly preferred. Experience in manufactured housing greatly desired. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levels. Fluent in Spanish preferred (30%+ of the plant is Spanish speaking). Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic math skills. Must be detail‑oriented and able to multi‑task effectively. Ability to read and understand home building specifications greatly desired. Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols. Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a changing, fast‑paced work environment. Physical Demands Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and/or pulling. Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures. Work primarily involves sitting/standing, up to 4 hours at a time. Travel Requirements As needed for plant training, conferences, or other Clayton events. Salary Base salary of $85,000–$90,000 and eligibility for various bonus programs.
