Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency RoomWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Emergency Room team. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are ready to provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population.Job OverviewUnit: Emergency Room (ER)Unit Type: ER with 24+ beds (including mid-level staff fast track)Shift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekYears of Experience Required: 2 yearsCertifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and Moderate Conscious Sedation competencyShift DetailsWork Schedule: Nights (7p-7a), every other weekend, and holidays as part of the permanent staff rotation.Ratios: 1 nurse to 4 patientsRole ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to a busy ER with an average of 150 patients per day, treating both adults and pediatrics.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and ensure proper patient assessments and documentation using Cerner FirstNet EMR.Assist with acute and emergent care, including stabilization and preparing for transport when necessary.Contribute to the care of patients requiring a higher level of care and participate in the management of psych holds.QualificationsMust possess at least 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency or critical care setting.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are mandatory prior to start.Ready to adapt quickly and effectively in a high-demand environment.Additional InformationOrientation: Two shifts of floor-specific orientation will be provided.Staffing: No floating; specific to the ER unit.Support Services: Pharmacy available 24/7, RT on staff around the clock.Equipment: Vents available, and Philips Telemetry is in use.Scrub Color: NavyA large portion of the patient population includes individuals experiencing homelessness.If you are a dedicated RN with a passion for emergency care, we encourage you to apply and join our team in delivering excellent health services.Client Details City Santa Cruz State CA
