Location Hybrid role in Dallas, TX or Boston, MA Job Summary The Sr. Associate, Application Development serves as a senior level developer and/or project manager for multiple application initiatives. The incumbent analyzes, designs, develops, and maintains software applications to support business units, providing advanced technical expertise in analyzing, designing, estimating, and developing software applications. They oversee systems design and implementation of complex components, create project plans and deliverables, and monitor task deadlines. Additionally, the role maintains and supports existing software applications and resolves complex issues. Responsibilities Serve as a hands‑on technical leader, actively contributing to application architecture, software design, code reviews, and complex development initiatives while providing day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, and direction to the development team. Program in operating systems and programming languages such as ABAP, Java, and Java EE (if applicable). Establish infrastructure standards and requirements. Evaluate, direct, and support application system enhancements and perform quality assurance functions. Provide highest degree of technical engineering and support to the team. Research and implement solutions for application functionality in areas of performance monitoring, tuning, and systems configuration, design and implementation. Contribute to the design and delivery of complex projects to achieve key business objectives. Lead efforts to ensure the workplace environment supports a highly motivated and effective workforce focused on continuous improvement and best practices. Support project scheduling and deliverables with minimal management guidance. Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues. Document application architecture and system design. Ensure security and compliance measures are followed. Education Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education – Required. Qualifications 9+ years IT, technical application development, or similar experience – Required. Expert‑level experience developing production applications using modern Python (Python 3.13+ preferred). Strong experience with modern Python development tooling including Astral uv, Pydantic, pytest for automated testing, mypy, ty, and ruff. Strong experience designing and developing solutions utilizing Microsoft SQL Server 2019+. Experience developing and optimizing data solutions within Snowflake. Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as proven management skills. Ability to continually assess and evaluate the impact of emerging technologies against strategic business needs and interpret business value for leadership in a consultative capacity. Strong leadership to mentor, develop career opportunities, foster teamwork, and enable leadership qualities. Proven understanding of computer science fundamentals including web development, service‑oriented architecture, cloud computing, test‑driven development, and domain‑driven design. Strong service‑oriented architecture experience. Ability to lead multiple sub‑teams through example and persuasion. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to develop and maintain industry knowledge and best practices. Ability to stay up‑to‑date on industry trends and foresee/anticipate industry direction. Experience in developing and managing multi‑tier architecture applications. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Curiosity and aptitude for working with new technologies and partnering with others to create custom solutions for unique business needs. Innovation and future strategy mindset.
