Must-Haves:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to complete basic paperwork and communicate via email
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated attitude
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the day
• Comfortable working at heights and operating around electrical equipment
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and evenings
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

 

Plusses:

• Prior experience in event operations, facility maintenance, construction, rigging, or related fields
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Experience operating personnel lifts or working with rigging equipment
• Experience supporting conventions, trade shows, sporting events, or large-scale events

 

Day-to-Day:

• Assist with venue services throughout the convention center
• Plot and install venue services based on exhibitor orders and convention layouts
• Install electrical services for exhibitors and event spaces
• Set up floor-to-ceiling drape systems
• Install banners, center points, and rigging elements utilizing lifts
• Perform light facility maintenance including painting, plumbing repairs, and bulb replacement
• Support conventions, trade shows, consumer shows, sporting events, and special events
• Provide excellent customer service to exhibitors, promoters, vendors, and guests
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Insight Global is seeking a  Convention Operations Technician for a leading events and convention facility in Edison, NJ. This is a hands-on opportunity for candidates who enjoy physical work, problem-solving, and contributing to the success of large-scale events. The technician will support the setup and execution of conventions, trade shows, sporting events, and special events by installing exhibitor services, assisting with electrical and rigging operations, and performing general facility maintenance.
