Registered Nurse (RN)

The Maternity Unit is a family-centered, multidisciplinary care area dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to mothers, newborns, and families throughout the childbirth experience. The unit offers high-quality antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care while promoting patient safety, education, and positive birth experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional care to patients during antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn stages.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff.
• Support the physical, emotional, and educational needs of families.
• Float to Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of nursing experience.
• Experience in postpartum care, newborn care, and antepartum monitoring.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are required.
• Fetal monitoring experience is essential.

The unit services a diverse urban population, which includes individuals across all age groups and backgrounds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3, with variations depending on the unit's needs. The maternity unit consists of a total of 32 beds.

The position requires availability to work at least 1-2 weekends per month but not on holidays.
