Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines.
• Utilize critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment in patient care decisions.
• Monitor patient status, administer medications as ordered, document care, and respond promptly to changes in condition in a fast-paced ER environment.
• Participate in discharge planning, patient education, and collaboration with physicians and ancillary teams to ensure safe, effective transitions of care.

Requirements

• Emergency department nursing experience or demonstrated competency in ER nursing (ER specialty indicated)
• Ability to work evenings and 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week) in an inpatient care setting
• Willingness to commit to a travel assignment for 8 weeks
• Ability to coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Strong clinical assessment skills, sound judgment, and effective communication under pressure
