Job Title

Registered Nurse – PICU (Travel Contract)

Location

Springfield, MO | Pediatric ICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information at all times
• Float as needed to NICU, Pediatric medical floor, or Peds ED based on patient volumes
• Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with established guidelines, including the Missouri Nurse Practice Act

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license; must meet criteria for eligibility for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in the state of Missouri
• BLS and PALS certifications from AHA only required
• TNCC certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience with ventilator competency
• At least 1 year of post-orientation experience required
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for complex pediatric patients including trauma, burn, neurosurgery, respiratory, sepsis, hematology/oncology, and orthopedic cases
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
• Flexible, team-oriented approach with the ability to adapt to varying patient volumes and unit needs
