Registered Dietitian I Location: Howard County General Hospital 5755 Cedar Lane Columbia, MD Hours Day shift (weekends included) Essential Functions Practice as a competent clinical nutrition practitioner using the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) and relevant theory. Utilize the NCP to provide nutrition care, conduct assessments, and implement evidence‑based nutrition plans aligned with patients’ goals of care. Demonstrate credibility as a skilled clinical nutrition practitioner within the interprofessional team and within the organization. Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote patient wellness, support health maintenance, and intervene in acute or chronic conditions. Provide tailored nutrition education to patients, considering age, language, and level of understanding, and document the plan in the Electronic Medical Record using the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standardized NCP language. Support the department or facility’s essential operations as directed by leadership. Share nutrition information with diverse audiences, including presentations, publications, media, social media, and community outreach initiatives. Complete other responsibilities as requested or assigned by the Clinical Nutrition Manager. Qualifications RDN credentialed after January 2024 must hold a Master’s Degree; a Bachelor’s Degree is acceptable if RDN credentialing was obtained prior to January 2024. Registered Dietitian credential by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure as a Dietitian‑Nutritionist (LDN) per state regulations. Knowledge of food science, biochemistry, physiology, management science, behavioral science, and social science as applied to human nutrition, metabolism, and disease influence. Strong interpersonal skills for effective oral and written communication with interdisciplinary team members, patients, families, providers, and other health‑care professionals. Ability to educate patients, interpret age‑specific responses to assessment and treatment, and manage interactions in challenging situations. Analytical skills to gather information, apply professional principles, perform analyses, and summarize data to assess patient conditions, plan diets, evaluate responses, and solve problems. Work Experience Less than two (2) years of experience. Salary Range Minimum $32.40 /hour – Maximum $53.48 /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. If the range is displayed as $0, salary discussions will occur during screening calls.
