Principal Financial Systems Administrator

A growing global technology company is seeking a Principal Finance Systems Administrator to take ownership of its core financial systems and drive the next stage of its finance technology infrastructure. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for an experienced professional who enjoys working at the intersection of finance, technology, and process improvement.

You will serve as the primary technical owner of the company's financial systems ecosystem, with a focus on NetSuite, Coupa, and critical integrations across banking, procurement, expense management, and other enterprise applications. From designing scalable integrations to improving automation and strengthening system controls, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how finance operates globally.

Responsibilities:

• Own the Financial Systems Ecosystem: Lead the administration, architecture, configuration, and optimization of NetSuite and Coupa, including system enhancements, workflows, user access, and upgrades.
• Drive Integration Strategy: Design, build, and maintain automated integrations connecting financial systems, expense platforms, procurement tools, banking portals, and other enterprise applications through APIs, EDI, and SFTP.
• Lead Technical Troubleshooting: Serve as the go-to expert for complex system issues, integration failures, data discrepancies, and technical escalations, partnering with internal IT teams and external vendors to resolve issues.
• Strengthen Controls & Compliance: Ensure financial systems align with SOX requirements, IT General Controls (ITGC), internal policies, and applicable data privacy standards.
• Partner Across the Business: Work closely with accounting, FP&A, procurement, sales operations, and IT to translate business needs into scalable system solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Expand Automation & Efficiency: Optimize existing scripts, workflows, and middleware integrations to reduce manual processes, improve data reliability, and streamline month-end close activities.
• Build Scalable Infrastructure: Support the integration of new technologies and business capabilities into the core financial systems environment as the organization continues to evolve.
• Establish Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain system documentation, technical runbooks, and standard operating procedures to support consistency, transparency, and long-term scalability.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in financial systems administration, implementation, or technical ownership, with strong expertise in NetSuite and Coupa.
• Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining API, EDI, and SFTP integrations across financial and enterprise applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of integration platforms and middleware, ideally including MuleSoft.
• Familiarity with SuiteScript, JavaScript, SQL, or Python for scripting, automation, and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting workflows, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, revenue recognition, multicurrency accounting, and month-end close.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Experience supporting SOX compliance, ITGCs, system access controls, and financial systems governance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and finance stakeholders.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to take ownership of complex systems and projects from start to finish.

Nice to Have

• NetSuite Certified Administrator or NetSuite ERP Consultant certification.
• Coupa platform certification or advanced Coupa administration experience.
• Experience supporting integrations across a global, multi-entity organization.
• Background in a high-growth SaaS or technology-driven business.
