Plumbing DesignerThis is an opportunity to join one of the nation's most active owner-developers and contribute directly to the design and delivery of large-scale hospitality and commercial developments across the United States. As a Plumbing Designer, you will play a critical role in developing plumbing and fire protection systems from concept through construction while collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and ownership teams to deliver high-performing projects.Unlike traditional consulting environments, this position provides direct exposure to the ownership side of development, allowing you to influence projects throughout the entire lifecycle. You'll work alongside experienced engineering leadership while gaining valuable experience across hotel, multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial developments that shape communities nationwide.Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop plumbing and piping system designs throughout schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phasesSupport fire protection system design, including wet-pipe sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and design-build coordination effortsProduce detailed engineering drawings and construction documents utilizing AutoCAD and RevitPrepare engineering calculations, specifications, and technical documentationCoordinate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and ownership teamsParticipate in project reviews, quality control processes, and construction coordination activitiesConduct field observations and assist with construction administration effortsInterpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentsEvaluate new products, materials, energy-saving technologies, and cost-saving initiativesSupport the development and implementation of engineering standards and best practicesParticipate in project meetings, coordination calls, and stakeholder discussionsAssist in maintaining project schedules and supporting successful project deliveryRequired Qualifications3–10+ years of progressive experience in plumbing design, building systems engineering, or related disciplinesStrong knowledge of plumbing systems, piping design, equipment selection, sizing, and layoutWorking knowledge of fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems and fire pumpsExperience preparing construction documents and supporting field observation activitiesProficiency in AutoCAD and Revit requiredKnowledge of relevant codes and standards including IPC, UPC, IBC, ASHRAE, and NFPAProficiency with Bluebeam and Bluebeam StudioStrong Microsoft Office skillsExcellent organizational, communication, and technical documentation abilitiesAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teamsWillingness to travel to project sites, industry events, and training opportunities as neededPreferred QualificationsAssociate Degree in Mechanical Drafting, Building Systems Engineering Technology, or related fieldExperience working on hospitality, hotel, mixed-use, or commercial developmentsFamiliarity with owner-side project delivery environmentsExperience coordinating with design-build fire protection consultantsKnowledge of energy efficiency initiatives and sustainable building systemsConstruction administration and project closeout experience
