Senior Portfolio Analyst

Banco Sabadell is seeking a Senior Portfolio Analyst candidate to join a dynamic team within one of the fastest growing banks in Florida.

Responsibilities

• The Senior Portfolio Analyst (SPA) role is focused on the evaluation and monitoring of loans, the bank's corporate assets
• The SPA is responsible for continuously evaluating the corporate portfolio ensuring credit quality is maintained
• The SPA is also responsible for the on-going evaluation of the asset quality of the existing loan portfolio
• The proper evaluation of the generation of new loans and the monitoring of existing loans, which is key to the bank's overall profitability
• Discussion and preliminary review of loan requests with RMs, and other departments
• Propose Loan Status Change ("LSC") for downgrades/upgrades of internal credit ratings
• Hold discussions with credit authorities regarding underperforming loans
• Perform Impairment Analysis (ASC 310 / FASB114)
• Review external Credit Ratings
• Review Policy Exceptions
• Monitor loans for financial covenant compliance and trends
• Evaluate loans for proper loan grading and propose Loan Status Change ("LSC") for downgrades/upgrades of internal credit ratings if needed
• Coordinate efforts, as needed, with other departments within the Bank to provide support with any specific request such as: regulators, loan reviewers, internal audit and external audits

Requirements

• Loan Officer or Portfolio Manager preferably at a Commercial Bank
• Preferred formal Credit training
• Understanding of appropriate Loan structures, covenants and borrowing bases
• Experience in analysing Commercial real estate loans, business loans and loans to individuals
• Experience in analysing tax returns, personal financial statements and business financial statements and real estate appraisals
• Ability to evaluate collateral value
• Basic Loan documentation knowledge
