Job Overview – Temporary Staff Accountant (Hybrid): Compensation: $40/hour | Location: Stamford, CT | Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Temporary Staff Accountant for our client in Stamford, CT. This hybrid role provides accounting and reconciliation support, including Excel data analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Our client is seeking an accounting professional with strong Excel skills and reconciliation experience, ideally within financial services or trading.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform detailed Excel analysis, reconciliations, and reporting to support accounting operations.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and compliance to accounting standards.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, securities transactions, and general ledger accounts.
- Month-End Close: Assist with close processes, variance analysis, and preparation of supporting schedules.
- Financial Reporting: Contribute to financial statement preparation and management reporting as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 2-5 years in accounting or bookkeeping, with reconciliation experience in securities trading or financial services strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) with experience in ERP or accounting systems preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and month-end close processes within financial services or corporate environments.
- Skills & Attributes: Highly detail-oriented, organized, and technology-savvy with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
