Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized critical care nursing to postoperative cardiac surgery patients in a high-acuity CVICU setting. Deliver comprehensive patient care while supporting a team of experienced cardiovascular nurses and utilizing advanced monitoring technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care in a 19-bed CVICU/CVRU unit, managing highly complex cardiac patients.
• Monitor patient hemodynamics and respond to changes with appropriate interventions.
• Assist in procedures such as IABP, Impella, LVAD management, and chest tube removal.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, educators, and support staff, to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately within Cerner EMR system, adhering to hospital policies.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing education to maintain advanced skills in cardiovascular critical care.

Qualifications:

• Hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Possess at least 2 years of CVICU or CVRU experience in a critical care environment.
• Demonstrate a passion for surgical heart care and high-energy, positive attitude.
• Have completed critical care training program or hold related certifications.
• Exhibit strong clinical judgment in managing complex cardiac procedures and devices.
