A Day in the Life

As a Ground Support Equipment Final Test & Inspection Specialist, you’ll begin your day reviewing build documentation, blueprints, and system diagrams. You’ll bring newly built units to life—running functional checks across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. When something isn’t quite right, you’ll dive into root-cause troubleshooting, verify corrective actions, and confirm that every system performs to specification before release.

Throughout the day, you’ll conduct final inspections on completed products destined for customers, perform formal and informal audits of materials, processes, and systems, and capture your findings in precise quality records. You’ll be a hands-on contributor to ISO quality system activities and champion safe work practices and PPE on the shop floor.

You’ll report directly to the Production Manager, with a dotted line to the Quality Assurance Manager.

What You’ll Tackle

• Execute end-of-line functional testing on complete units and subassemblies across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical domains.
• Diagnose faults, pinpoint root causes, implement and verify corrective actions, and authorize release only when systems meet requirements.
• Perform final product inspections ahead of shipment to customers.
• Audit materials, processes, products, and systems to uphold standards.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring/hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams to validate build accuracy.
• Document test data, inspection results, and nonconformances; maintain accurate quality records.
• Support ISO Quality Management System implementation and maintenance.
• Comply with all plant safety rules and required PPE.

What You Bring

• 3–5 years of hands-on inspection experience, ideally with final product release responsibility.
• Proven industrial or automotive troubleshooting background.
• Practical knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Engineering or technical exposure is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system diagrams.

Additional Skills

• Comfort with measurement and test tools and keeping thorough test records.
• Proficiency with diagnostic instruments such as multimeters and pressure gauges.
• Clear written and verbal communication; strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy, including experience with MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Effectiveness working independently or within a team.
• Meticulous attention to detail.

Education & Background

• 3–5 years’ experience in troubleshooting, inspection, testing, or QA roles.
• Technical or trade school training in electrical, mechanical, or automotive technology is advantageous.

Schedule

• Full Time | Monday–Thursday | 6:00am–4:30pm
• Occasional Friday and overtime hours may be offered to meet production and shipping schedules.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods in a manufacturing setting.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion.
• Climb on and around ground support equipment to test and inspect.
• Work on a shop floor with noise, moving equipment, and temperature variation; PPE is required.
