Personal Financial Counselor, Assignment Ready Counselor Oregon

Responsibilities Provide coverage in short‑term, surge, and on‑demand situations resulting from military needs. Deliver full‑breadth personal financial counseling services to service members and families at military installations, including one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals. Work closely with installation and military branch points of contact (POC) to assure program scope and needs are met. Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences. Develop and distribute informational financial materials. Coordinate, publicize, and provide a variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering the military lifecycle. Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling and other electronic communication modes such as web‑based chat or video‑teleconference. Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trend information with assigned installations. Participate in in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered). Minimum of 3years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen who speaks fluent English (bilingual in English and Spanish may be required). Ability to obtain a Tier2 security investigation. Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process. Certification required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
