Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/Stepdown position requiring prior travel experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC)/PCU/DOU/Stepdown unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:00), 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Floating required
• Weekend shifts required
• Epic EMR charting required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Skilled in cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with ventilated patient care, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration preferred
• Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement preferred
• Experience managing pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure patients

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for intermediate care/stepdown patients requiring cardiac telemetry and close monitoring
• Responsible for wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and surgical drain management
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered for this position
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be accepted
• Previous staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted for consideration prior to placement, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
