Assistant Professor Pediatric Critical Care (CICU) Milwaukee

Position Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics Division of Critical Care at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Childrens Wisconsin (CW) seeks a board certified / board eligible physician (or appropriate faculty role) to join our expanding Division. We are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care.

Position Highlights:

Clinical faculty at 90% serving as an attending on the Critical Care service in the CICU

10% academic time in alignment with faculty interest

High-level overview of patient population

Any required or preferred skills and procedures

Team dynamic: the CICU is a team of providers consisting of attending physicians fellows and advance practice providers.

Performs other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate.

Schedule:

This position will serve as an attending in the CICU. A full clinical schedule for a CICU intensivist is 13 weeks and 48 in house calls.

The Critical Care Division of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin/Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin provides quality of intensive care services for children in Wisconsin. Our highly educated and trained providers consist of Physicians Fellows and Advanced Practice addition the division has a robust research program that consists of faculty and a staff research team.

Qualifications:

Medical/Doctoral degree (MD DO or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

Board certification (or eligibility) in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine specialty. Completion of additional training in cardiac critical care.

State medical licensure or eligibility to obtain license in the state of Wisconsin.

Rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful finalist.

Childrens Wisconsin and Childrens Specialty Group

Childrens Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital with locations in Milwaukee and Northeast Wisconsin is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. Childrens Wisconsin provides primary care urgent care emergency care specialty care mental and behavioral health services community health services foster and adoption services child advocacy services and health insurance plans. Each year the Childrens Wisconsin team has more than 6.5 million touchpoints with kids and families through medical care advocacy research and Northeast Wisconsin Childrens Wisconsin is expanding its services to provide increased access to outstanding pediatric subspecialty care. This includes a pediatric hospital with a Pediatric Unit Level III NICU and Infusion Center which is located at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah WI. A multispecialty pediatric ambulatory clinic with on-site laboratory and radiology services opened in Appleton 2023.

Childrens and its joint venture with the Medical College of Wisconsin the Childrens Specialty Group (CSG) - are the largest providers of pediatric healthcare in the state serving the children and families of Wisconsin with the highest level of care through their American College of Surgeons Level I Childrens Surgery Verification Center Level I Pediatric Trauma Center Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence 72-bed Level IV NICU Level IV Epilepsy Center and a 72-bed 2026-2027 CW and CSG had six specialties ranked by US News & World Report: cancer; gastroenterology and GI surgery; nephrology neurology and neurosurgery; pulmonology and Urology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers CSG providers had 220000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites 67000 emergency department/trauma center visits and over 9000 admissions.
