Part-Time School NurseAs a Part-Time School Nurse at The Prairie School, you will help ensure our students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Working alongside our Lead Nurse, you will provide compassionate care to students and have the experience and confidence to independently manage the Health Office when the Lead Nurse is unavailable.You will embody Prairie's Mission and Guiding Mantra by knowing, valuing, supporting, and challenging every student to be their best self.What Success Looks LikeStudents receive thoughtful, responsive, and compassionate care.You confidently manage the Health Office independently when needed.Families and colleagues experience you as a trusted, calm, and collaborative partner.Student medications, health plans, records, and required documentation are handled accurately and confidentially.You build positive relationships with students from Early School through Grade 12.Core Responsibilities / Skills That Support SuccessAssess and care for student illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.Administer medications and support students with chronic or individualized health needs.Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.Communicate with families and coordinate follow-up care when appropriate.Support students' medications, health plans, and supplies for field trips and school activities.Collaborate with the Lead Nurse, faculty, staff, and student support teams.Step fully into the Lead Nurse role when needed, using sound clinical judgment to independently manage student health needs and the Health Office.Experience We ValueCurrent Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license.Nursing experience in pediatrics, school health, emergency care, family practice, or a related setting is preferred.Current CPR/AED certification.Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently.Warm, calm, organized, and comfortable working with children and adolescents.A collaborative mindset and commitment to Prairie's student-centered community.This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced nurse seeking part-time, limited-hour, or on-call work while remaining connected to a dynamic school community.
