About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Packaging to take ownership of its end-to-end packaging strategy, with a focus on maximizing the performance of each episode across various platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of packaging elements, including titles, thumbnails, descriptions, and metadata, with a data-driven approach that drives click-through rates and audience retention. This role demands a leader who can run a rigorous experimentation engine, translate performance data into strategic decisions, and ensure that the packaging process is in line with the company's brand, voice, and editorial standards. The Head of Packaging will also be instrumental in the growth of the company's audio presence, adapting packaging strategies to different platforms and audience behaviors. Key responsibilities for the Head of Packaging at the company include leading the packaging workflow for each episode, designing and executing A/B tests, and maintaining a compounding playbook of packaging knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of improving CTR and retention, deep knowledge of YouTube's algorithms and best practices, and experience in structured A/B testing. They must be adept at cross-functional collaboration, particularly with editorial, production, and design teams, and be committed to the integrity and speed of the packaging process. The role requires a candidate with a strong analytical mindset, excellent copywriting and visual instincts, and a disciplined approach to testing. AI fluency and a relentless pursuit of execution excellence are also essential competencies for this position.
