We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Restaurant General Manager to lead the daily operations of a busy, community-focused restaurant in Haddonfield, NJ. The General Manager will take ownership of the restaurant's day-to-day operation while working closely with the ownership and management team to maintain high standards for service, food quality, cleanliness, staffing, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficient and consistent execution.
• Lead, coach, and develop managers and hourly team members.
• Build a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
• Deliver exceptional guest service and create a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, service, and cleanliness.
• Drive sales and profitability through strong operational execution.
• Manage labor costs, food costs, inventory, waste, and other controllable expenses.
• Review financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
• Create staffing plans and schedules based on business needs.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and retain talented team members.
• Conduct ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and employee development.
• Ensure proper food preparation, portion control, product rotation, and inventory procedures.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with all health department, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Handle guest concerns and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
• Manage opening, closing, cash-handling, and security procedures.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals and expectations.
• Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to maintain speed, quality, and consistency.
• Support local marketing, community engagement, and promotional initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting restaurant at all times.
• Be visible and hands-on during busy periods, stepping in wherever needed.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve sales, service, staffing, and overall restaurant performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably as a General Manager.
• Experience in a high-volume café, breakfast, fast-casual, or full-service restaurant preferred.
• Proven ability to recruit, lead, coach, and retain a strong team.
• Strong understanding of restaurant P&L, labor, food cost, and inventory management.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer-service and hospitality mindset.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on leadership style with a strong attention to detail.
• Reliable, accountable, and results-oriented.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
