Company: Quality Control Laboratories, LLC Location: Project Sites within New York, U.S.A Job Type: Full-time/ Part-Time Quality Control Laboratories, LLC. is looking for experienced Special Inspector (Full time and Part Time) for NYCDDC/CUNY/LaGuardia Airport projects under Supervision of Professional Licensed Engineer. Qualifications ACI Certified Field Technician; minimum requirement. Knowledge of the Building Code in New York City. Special Inspector position must hold other certifications including: ICC/CWI Bachelor’s Degree pertaining to the Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Geotechnical, etc.) a plus. Working knowledge of the principles and terminology in the Construction Inspection Industry. Prior work experience in the Construction Inspection Industry (with references) required. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Reliable means of transportation A readiness to acquire new certifications is highly essential Essential Functions Traveling to various project sites. Overseeing construction operations Employing field testing equipment to assess compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards. Reviewing approved plans, specifications, and submittals for inspection requirements. Ensuring compliance with inspection requirements based on the applicable code, approved plans, and specifications. Generating daily field reports and inspection reports and adhering to procedures for notifying discrepancies. Communicating with project managers, colleagues, and contractors as necessary. Utilizing computer-based web applications and other relevant office software to complete daily reports. Other Requirements During the execution of this crucial function for the role, it is essential to: Maneuver within the job site, ensuring appropriate positioning to access necessary testing areas, materials, and equipment throughout the entire shift. Lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 lbs. (such as Nuclear Gauge, Concrete Equipment, and other types of equipment). Undergo background checks, such as SWAC / SIDA security clearance, in accordance with project requirements.
