Course Details ACCTG-608-01, Advanced Legal Issues and Regulatory Framework Fall Semester 2026 (Part A of Term), 3CU Meets In-Person Saturdays 9/5, 9/12, 9/26, 10/3, 10/17, 10/24 from 8:30AM-12:30PM Meets Online Mondays 8/31-10/19 from 7:00PM-9:00PM Course Description: This course examines the legal implications of business transactions, particularly as they relate to accounting, auditing and financial reporting. In addition, students are required to apply the knowledge gained to evaluate the economic substance of client transactions, including purchase agreements, loans and promissory notes, sales contracts, leases and commitments. Oral and written communication skills and professional research skills are emphasized. Qualifications Candidates must have a Master’s or Ph.D. preferred in a relevant area of accounting discipline. Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level and experience/familiarity with online/hybrid instruction in order to prepare for contingencies. This position requires all course work to be performed in the state of California. Salary: $7,447 to $10,308 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here. Assignment Process Please note that courses will be assigned to current qualified adjunct faculty members who apply during the first 14 days of the posting in the following order: Seniority of those who have taught the course previously up to their average. Seniority of those who have not taught the course up to their average. Seniority rotation above their average up to 28 CU. If the course is not assigned to a current qualified adjunct faculty member under the process above, it may be assigned to a new hire after the 14 day period for current adjunct faculty members to apply has elapsed.
