Job Title: Janitor (Industrial / Machine Shop)

Pay: $24/hour

Schedule:

First Shift (Tuesday & Wednesday: 7am-3:30p, Thursday & Friday: 6am-3:30pm, and Saturday (6am-12pm) - $24/hour (2 hour OT)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Janitor to maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within our machine shop and surrounding facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe and efficient work environment by keeping areas clean, removing debris, and properly handling industrial waste such as metal shavings and fluids.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a steady, productive pace throughout their shift.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and maintain shop floors, workstations, restrooms, and break areas
Sweep, mop, and scrub floors, including removal of oil, grease, and coolant spills
Safely dispose of metal shavings, scrap materials, and industrial waste
Empty trash and recycling containers
Clean machinery exteriors and surrounding areas (no machine operation required)
Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify supervisor when restocking is needed
Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times
Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and industrial vacuums
Complete tasks efficiently and within assigned timeframes
Assist with general facility upkeep as needed

Strong work ethic with consistent productivity
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
High attention to detail
Dependable and punctual
Knowledge of proper handling of industrial cleaning chemicals
Strong awareness of workplace safety procedures
Bilingual - English & Spanish (Preferred)

Work Environment

Industrial machine shop setting
Exposure to metal dust, oils, coolants, and loud equipment
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots
